| Bio: | I'm Rin. I'm kind of a huge nerd, more of the loner type, which is fun. I love to read (gimme books!) and watch movies and listen to music. I like to study and learn, and I devote myself entirely to my pagan religious beliefs. I like to play the piano and attempt to sing. Every now and then I enjoy hanging out with friends, though I'm not too sure they enjoy hanging out with me :P I like wolves and cougars and squirrels, enjoy hiking (I'm *trying* to get in shape). And trees. Absolutely love trees. As for Harry Potter, I'm a Ravenclaw through and through, but I'm not afraid to show a few Slytherin qualities if the situation calls for them. In the Hogwarts_Elite community, I was most definately sorted into Ravenclaw, though it was a close running between Slytherin and Ravenclaw. I take more pride in my smarts than my cunning, though, so that did indeed win out. I'm pagan. If that bugs you, don't bother reading about me, because I'm very involved in the small community where I live, and I post quite a bit about it. I'm an Irish Celtic Reconstructionist, which basically means that I worship the ancient Irish deities and I tend to focus my worship in a way that's as in tune with the ancient Irish ways as possible. I'm also studying to be a druid, but I've got another good fifteen years left on that. I'm a bit of a purist; I have a passionate hatred for anybody who mixes pantheons (this includes mixing Irish and Welsh) and for Celtic Wiccans. I'm getting a little more comfortable working with Wiccans, however, seeing as in the Pagan Student Alliance, there's like twenty of us, and two of us are not Wiccan. My patron deities are Lugh and Ogma; I like my music, I like my writing, and I can be rather pushy if it's called for. I have recently had a renewed love of musical theatre, and Jekyll & Hyde, Phantom of the Opera, and Wicked are at the top of my list. As far as other music goes, I like a lot of different stuff. Audioslave, Josh Groban, Evanescence, Eric Clapton, Michael Ball, Andrea Bocelli, Goo Goo Dolls, Beethoven, Tchiakovsky (I think I spelled it right)...to name a few. I've got a CD collection that numbers somewhere in the two hundreds. I consider myself a music elitist. I'm also a huge fan of movies. And I'm very, very opinionated about my movies. I love Star Wars. I love Star Wars. I don't think I can say it enough- I love Star Wars. And not just the original trilogy, I really adore the new stuff as well. Other movies...I'm a big fan of M. Night Shamalayn (however you spell it). I loved The Village. I loved Signs. I didn't agree with the message, but I loved it. The man's a genius. I love Disney. Books. Books are my pride and joy. I love books, I love reading. I'm writing down every book I read for the next year; I'll have it posted on my livejournal when I'm finished (maybe). I managed to go through eight books in two weeks, including school books, but I've had to slow down for now. I read the Star Wars novels religiously. They're excellent. See, told you I was a fan. I've been reading Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series (it begins with Wizard's First Rule, please go read the series, you won't regret it). And that book series is shaping a lot of my philosophy and morality, especially the wizard's rules (which are listed below). Terry Goodkind is the best thing that has ever happened to me. The Wizard's Rules: Wizard's First Rule: People are stupid. Wizard's Second Rule: The greatest harm can result from the best intentions. Wizard's Third Rule: Passion rules reason. Wizard's Fourth Rule: There is magic in forgiveness- the magic to heal. In the forgiveness you grant, and moreso in the forgiveness you receive. Wizard's Fifth Rule: Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds will betray a lie. Wizard's Sixth Rule: The only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason. Wizard's Seventh Rule: Life is the future, not the past. Wizard's Eighth Rule: Deserve victory. Wizard's Ninth Rule: A contradiction cannot exist in reality. There are two more wizard's rules forthcoming (well, that's what I'd infer in any case, because Terry Goodkind has put one wizard's rule in every book so far, he will likely put one in each of the last two books). In any case, these rules aren't enough to live your life by; the philosophies in the books are.
